Black Aces Hand-Tooled Leather Flask – 5 oz / 150 ml

Three aces on black leather. Carved, not printed.

A 5 oz (150 ml) stainless steel flask wrapped in full grain leather, tooled by hand in our Jaipur workshop. Scrollwork is carved across a blackened ground, and a fanned three-ace hand is worked in raised white leather at the centre — the pips picked out in red and black by hand. White leather lacing runs the top, bottom and side seam.

Small enough for a jacket pocket. The kind of thing that gets picked up off a poker table.

What Makes It Work

Hand-carved leather wrap. Western scrollwork cut and shaped by an artisan, then dyed black so the relief reads in shadow rather than colour.

Raised ace detail. The three cards are built up in pale leather and set proud of the surface, with the suit marks and letters painted by hand. Every one is worked individually, so no two hands sit exactly alike.

White whipstitch lacing. Leather lace threaded by hand along the borders and down the side seam.

5 oz / 150 ml stainless steel body. Slim curved profile that sits flat against a pocket. Single wall — not insulated.

Hinged screw cap. The cap stays attached on a swing arm, so there's nothing to set down and lose while you pour.

How to Use It

Pour through the funnel neck, thread the cap back down, fold the arm flat. Carry it in a jacket pocket, a bag, or a saddlebag.

An easy gift for a card player, a groomsman, or anyone whose taste runs black-on-black with one bit of swagger.

Care Instructions

Leather wrap. Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Keep it away from prolonged damp and direct heat. Condition every few months with a small amount of neutral leather balm, worked in gently along the carved lines. Take extra care over the white cards — they mark more easily than the black, so wipe lightly and keep balm off them.

Steel interior. Rinse with warm water after use and leave uncapped until fully dry inside. Do not put the flask in a dishwasher — the heat and detergent will ruin the leather.

Spills. Wipe the outside promptly if anything runs down the side. Alcohol can lift finish from tooled leather.

Storage. Store empty, dry, cool, and out of direct sun.

A note on wear. The black deepens and the pale cards mellow with handling. Both are expected.
