Tan Aces & Bronc Hand-Tooled Leather Flask – 5 oz / 150 ml

Four aces and a bucking bronc. All of it cut by hand.

A 5 oz (150 ml) stainless steel flask wrapped in full grain leather, tooled by hand in our Jaipur workshop. Deep floral scrollwork covers the body, and at the centre a fanned hand of four aces is carved and painted — the last card carrying a rider on a bucking horse, picked out in blue, black and cream. White leather lacing runs the top and bottom edges.

Small enough for a jacket pocket. The kind of piece someone keeps for thirty years.

What Makes It Work

Hand-carved leather wrap. Western floral scrollwork with a full bloom at the base, cut and shaped by an artisan over the whole surface — not just the panel.

Aces and bronc detail. Four aces fanned across the front, suits painted in turquoise, and a rider carved onto the last card. This is the most detailed piece in the flask range and the slowest to make.

White whipstitch lacing. Leather lace threaded by hand along the top and bottom borders.

5 oz / 150 ml stainless steel body. Slim curved profile that sits flat against a pocket. Single wall — not insulated.

Hinged screw cap. The cap stays attached on a swing arm, so there's nothing to set down and lose while you pour.

How to Use It

Pour through the funnel neck, thread the cap back down, fold the arm flat. Carry it in a jacket pocket, a bag, or a saddlebag.

A strong gift for a rodeo follower, a card player, or anyone who'd rather carry something carved than something engraved by machine.

Care Instructions

Leather wrap. Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Keep it away from prolonged damp and direct heat. Condition every few months with a small amount of neutral leather balm, worked in gently along the carved lines. Go carefully over the painted cards and rider — rub lightly, never scrub, and avoid solvents and alcohol-based cleaners, which can lift hand-applied colour.

Steel interior. Rinse with warm water after use and leave uncapped until fully dry inside. Do not put the flask in a dishwasher — the heat and detergent will ruin the leather.

Spills. Wipe the outside promptly if anything runs down the side. Alcohol can lift finish from tooled leather.

Storage. Store empty, dry, cool, and out of direct sun.

A note on wear. Undyed tan leather darkens noticeably with handling and sun. It will look different in a year, and better.
