Turquoise & Tan Hand-Tooled Leather Flask – 5 oz / 150 ml

Turquoise borders. Carved tan scrollwork. Hard to miss on a table.

A 5 oz (150 ml) stainless steel flask wrapped in full grain leather, tooled by hand in our Jaipur workshop. Scrolls and leaves are carved in warm tan against a blacked, stippled ground, and the whole panel is framed top and bottom in turquoise-painted leather. White leather lacing runs the borders and the full side seam.

Small enough for a jacket pocket. Loud enough to get asked about.

What Makes It Work

Hand-carved leather wrap. Western scrollwork cut and shaped by an artisan, with the recessed background blacked and textured so the tan pattern stands proud.

Turquoise painted borders. Colour applied by hand along the top and bottom bands, so tone and coverage vary slightly from piece to piece.

White whipstitch lacing. Leather lace threaded by hand along both borders and down the side seam, finishing the wrap and holding it to the body.

5 oz / 150 ml stainless steel body. Slim curved profile that sits flat against a pocket. Single wall — not insulated.

Hinged screw cap. The cap stays attached on a swing arm, so there's nothing to set down and lose while you pour.

How to Use It

Pour through the funnel neck, thread the cap back down, fold the arm flat. Carry it in a jacket pocket, a bag, or a saddlebag.

A good gift for anyone with a taste for whisky and western craft — birthdays, groomsmen, retirements, or a wedding party that wants something with colour in it.

Care Instructions

Leather wrap. Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Keep it away from prolonged damp and direct heat. Condition every few months with a small amount of neutral leather balm, worked in gently along the carved lines. Take extra care over the turquoise bands — rub lightly, never scrub, and avoid solvents and alcohol-based cleaners, which can lift hand-applied colour.

Steel interior. Rinse with warm water after use and leave uncapped until fully dry inside. Do not put the flask in a dishwasher — the heat and detergent will ruin the leather.

Spills. Wipe the outside promptly if anything runs down the side. Alcohol can lift finish from tooled leather.

Storage. Store empty, dry, cool, and out of direct sun.

A note on wear. The tan leather darkens with handling and the painted bands soften with age. Both are expected.
